Colonel Michael P. Ward, D.O. first enlisted in the US Air Force in 1983 and in 1984 began his military medical career as Medical Service Specialist. Upon leaving active duty, he continued his service in the USAF Reserves until being commissioned in the Army National Guard in 1992. Returning to the Air Force in the Air National Guard in 1995, Dr. Ward became a Flight Surgeon and moved up thorough the ranks in the Michigan and then the Arizona National Guard. He served as the Medical Group Commander of the 161st Medical Group from 2007 until 2012 when he was selected and reassigned as the Arizona State Air Surgeon, where he currently serves.
Dr. Ward is a board certified emergency physician and is the President of Arizona Emergency Medicine Specialists. He has been the Medical Director of Emergency Services at Kingman Regional Medical Center for the past 11 years. Balancing a full career, both military and civilian with his wife, Senator Kelli Ward and their 3 children has been challenging and rewarding. Michael has had the opportunity to deploy world-wide including voluntary tours to Kuwait, Iraq and Turkey. He looks forward to continuing to give back to our mighty warriors and their families who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service to our awesome country.
